The SEASREP Foundation presented its panel “House Museums in Southeast Asia: Examples from East Timor, Myanmar, Thailand and Indonesia” at the Ayala Museum, Makati, Philippines on 29 August 2024. It was organized, with funding from the Japan Foundation Manila, for the 2024 National Conference on Local History and Heritage (NCLHH) coordinated by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) through its Local Historical Committees Network (LHCN), in partnership with the Ayala Museum and Ayala Foundation, Inc. (AFI).
The panel on “House Museums in Southeast Asia” consisted of:

- Dr. Kisho Tsuchiya, Center for Southeast Asian Studies, Kyoto University “Reconsidering the Concept of Museum: The Case of Timorese Sacred Houses;” and
- Irmina “Ina” Maria Silas, Curator of the House Sampoerna from 2005-2018, “The Use of Storytelling Narratives in the House of Sampoerna Museum to Reinforce Indonesian National Spirit.”
